The KSU alumni ski trip to Jackson Hole has happened twice — January 2023 and January 2026 — and it stands as the benchmark for every trip we've taken. 40+ alumni each year, exceptional snow, and après ski at the legendary Mangy Moose with a covered bar tab. We partnered with OutsideLife and stayed at the Mountain Modern Motel — a boutique hotel minutes from the tram base.
Our second annual alumni ski trip brought 40+ Kent State alumni to the Tetons for the first time. Record snowfall greeted the group — deep powder days, the iconic tram to the 10,450 ft summit, and a night at the Mangy Moose that no one forgot.
We came back and the mountain delivered again. The group hit some of the best conditions Jackson Hole has seen in years — couloir runs, tree skiing, and bluebird days on the mountain's legendary expert terrain. Another sold-out trip, another covered bar tab.
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort isn't just one of the best ski destinations in the US — it's the benchmark. Off the mountain, Teton Village and the town of Jackson deliver on après ski. The Mangy Moose has been the unofficial living room of the ski world for decades — and our group has a covered bar tab there waiting. Whether you're riding the tram for the first time or bootpacking into expert chutes, this mountain earns its reputation every single run.
The Mountain Modern Motel is exactly what a ski trip base camp should be — a clean, well-designed boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Jackson, minutes from the tram base at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.
