Kent State Alumni, Built on the Mountain

The Kent State Alumni Ski & Snowboard Club was co-founded by Andrew Shepherd and Mark Wolterman, originating from the Kent State University Ski & Snowboard Club. After graduation, the mission was simple: keep the crew together and keep shredding the gnar.

Since our first annual trip to Telluride Mountain in 2022, we've taken alumni to some of the best mountains in the country — Crested Butte, Aspen/Snowmass, and Jackson Hole among them. We partner with OutsideLife to put together an all-inclusive package at a price that's genuinely hard to beat anywhere else.

Our trip is open to all Kent State alumni, their friends, and family. You handle your flight, we handle the rest. Whether you are a seasoned shredder or clicking into bindings for the first time, you will find your people here.

The Kent State University Alumni Ski & Snowboard Club hosts the premier annual ski trip for Kent State graduates and Ohio alumni. Founded in 2022, our group travels to world-class mountain destinations each January — Telluride, Aspen, Jackson Hole, and beyond — with an all-inclusive package through OutsideLife. Whether you're a lifelong Flasher or a friend tagging along, the KSU annual ski trip is the best way to stay connected on the slopes. Join the Ohio alumni who've made this their favorite winter tradition.

All skill levels are welcome. Whether you are clicking into bindings for the first time, a zoomer arounder, or a calm lay arounder, there's a place for you on this trip.
Every package includes a hotel bed space and a lift ticket. Additional add-ons like extra lift ticket days and gear rentals may be available through our trip partner OutsideLife.
Registration is handled through our trip partner OutsideLife. When the trip link drops, you'll be directed to their portal where you can complete payment and set up your room. Keep an eye on our Instagram @ksu_ski_snow_alumni so you don't miss it — the link is only open for about a week.
We announce the trip destination as early as possible to build awareness, then drop the registration link shortly after. Registration is only open for about a week, so follow us on Instagram to stay in the loop.
A $100 deposit is required to secure your spot at registration. From there, you'll have approximately one month to complete your total payment. Payment deadline is typically early November.
It depends on the destination. Some mountains are close enough to a major airport that an Uber will get you there. For destinations requiring further road travel, we'll either organize a bussing option or provide links to bus companies running the required route. Details are always shared when the trip is announced.
Through the OutsideLife portal you can build a custom rooming list to share a room with your friends. Final room assignments are confirmed by the trip organizers. Rooms typically accommodate 4–6 guests, and any open spaces may be filled with other trip members.
OutsideLife is the top ski and snowboard travel company in the US, specializing in college, alumni, and group ski trips at the nation's top ski resorts. They craft one-of-a-kind trips including après ski gatherings, live entertainment, themed parties, and a variety of on and off mountain events. We partner with OutsideLife to handle the logistics of our annual trip so you can focus on having a great time on the mountain.
Our group grows every year. Our biggest trip to date was Aspen/Snowmass 2025 with 50+ people on the mountain. We expect that number to keep climbing.
We announce the destination as early as possible — typically by end of summer — to give everyone time to plan. Follow us on Instagram @ksu_ski_snow_alumni to be the first to know.
Absolutely — beginners are encouraged to join. We just ask that you come with a plan for the mountain, whether that's bringing a friend who can teach you or booking a ski lesson through the resort. Everyone starts somewhere and the crew is incredibly welcoming.
Singles are always welcome. Although it is encouraged to bring at least one friend to share a bed with, we will do our best to communicate potential roommates. Depending on your riding level, we can also introduce you to different groups that come on our trips.
